Atmosphere:
Will’s Café is another one of Vredehoek’s iconic corner cafes. It overlooks the tremendous Table Mountain, Devil’s Peak and is scattered with greenery all round. It’s an old establishment and while the name has changed a couple times, the ethos has remained the same. Two verandas sit on either side of the corner store entrance. One is covered for Cape Town’s rainy days, while the other is exposed to soak up the African sun. Inside is a typical deli with fresh meat, bread and salads on offer for locals in need of a quick take-away. The atmosphere is fuelled by family feels, with the staff greeting every patron like a long-lost friend.
Coffee & Food:
The coffee tastes terrific and is beautifully prepared using Fabino beans. You know a café is a classic when it’s got an all-day breakfast. Apart from the classic breakfasts, they’ve got a salmon wrap, eggs benedict and anchovy toast on the menu. If you’re not in the mood for breakfast, they’ve also got a range of salads, tortilla wraps, sandwiches and pizzas. Pop into Will’s Café for a sun soaking afternoon, located on Upper Orange Street.
