Mustacchio is a no bullshit coffee house located on the connection between Kloof Street and Long Street. It’s got an industrial feel to it, stripped paint covers the walls, while pipes and chains hang from the roof. It’s a real steam punk sort of joint, showcasing the bad ass nature of coffee. A long running bar is on one side of the building while metal chairs and tables fill the rest of the room.
The coffee is the main attraction of this place, attempting to be one of the best in Cape Town. I must say the coffee is fantastic, technically perfect and absolutely delicious with machines timing everything with precision. You’ve even got the choice between robusta and arabica beans, both full of flavour. The only thing is, there’s a lack of human energy in every cup. It’s all machine made and there’s no chance of getting any sort of art on top of your coffee.
The menu is pretty cool, filled with lots of little quirky jokes. Most of them with an environmental angle in mind, which is great. The food is a mix between standard breakfasts, pastas and burgers. A real rock n’ roll styled menu. They’ve got some fresh juices, milkshakes and smoothies for those not wanting caffeine or a full meal.
Pop into Mustacchio if you want a technically perfect coffee and an industrial rock n roll themed vibe.
