A Superb Sunday Spot in Blouberg
The blissful beauty that is Table Mountain stands mightily still in the distance as steel stacked ships fill the bay alongside.
The vibe created is friendly and fun, but it’s a place people come for mainly for meetings but also for the occasional greeting. The old tins on the wall give it an old elegant feel but the mural of the Manhattan skyline on the opposite wall does create abit of confusion.
The vibe is great though, beautifully set with the Cape mountains in the distance and the ships, cars and people passing by. The music is ambient playing mixtures of lounge, soft rock and pop. It’s a great place to chill, meet or get some work done. The owner, Morgan, said his dream for his spot was to make it a fun place to work as if the employees are having a good time, it’ll filter down to the customers. This place does make one feel real relaxed and motivated at the same time and it has great wifi, which is needed to entertain the brus and business persons from Blouberg.
Coffee & Food:
The coffee is bitter, bold and certainly has dark deep Arabica flavour that subsides over time in your mouth. Tuskan, the man of the moment commented on the coffee saying “It’s quite watery but hey, I guess I did order a single.” Their blend is a full 100% Arabica bean that gives it its bold flavour but lacks that real coffee kick.
I ordered a Apple Danish which was for sure decent but wasn’t out of this world. Price-wise, the coffees are just about average sitting at between R20 – R25 a cuppa and while pastries are a lil’ more expensive ranging between R15 and R35. If you’re keen for a bite, you can get breakfasts, sandwiches or stuffed croissants. They won’t work your wallet too hard but they may not leavin’ you feeling like you were stealin’.
If you’re a surfer, a kite boarder or just a big Blouberg fan, pop into Morgans on 2 Marine Promenade on Blouberg Beachfront for a coffee and a croissant.
