Harvest Cafe has the Best View
It’s a café and deli located in the cultural kingdom we call the Bo-Kaap. Harvest Cafe has got to have one of the best views out of all the coffee shop in Cape Town. The Bo-Kaap is the perfect day date spot. Especially if you’re trying to act is if you know the best spots in Cape Town.
The feeling in the air is funky and fresh. Indoor plants lay scattered in beds that form green walls putting your brain in its element. Relaxed tunes blast in the background. These include the likes of Xavier Rudd and Sticky Fingers that keep you feeling calm and creative.
The setting of Harvest Café is unreal. Look through the windows with unobstructed panoramic views of Devil’s Peak, Table Mountain and Lion’s Head. Below the mountains, sit the brightly coloured building the beam in the Bo-Kaap. It’s an explosion of natural and cultural scenery that leaves you feeling inspired and invigorated to start or do something impactful. Harevest Café in the Bo-Kaap seems like it’s either a date or a work spot, but I guess they’re both with a significant other (the joke is about a laptop, har har).
Coffee & Food:
The coffee is a decent Deluxe, but the way it’s served makes up for it all. The coffee is served in creamy clay cups that just scream with character. They’ve got no handle but that’s the best part, especially for a cold winter’s morning when you need to warm your hands. To be honest, the cups just make me feel cool.
I had a croissant with cheese and jam which was a lil pricey. However, I reckon it’s worth it if you’re looking for a view. The croissant was damn delicious, a crispy crust that made every bite sound similar to the squeaky sound your shoes make when you walk on the beach. The rest of the menu is all about being fresh and wholesome, with only a couple of meaty meals on the menu, it’s a vegan or vegetarians paradise.
It’s a great spot to sit, stare and recharge, while you let your fingers do the typing. Located on 102 Wale Street in the Bo-Kaap, it’s a quick escape from the city stress and a great spot to soothe the spirt. Pop in, sit back and just enjoy the view at Harvest Deli over a cuppa Deluxe coffee.
