It looks like the real deal kind of deli from the front.

A Coffee Shop with the Best Take-Away Section in Town

Giovanni’s Deli is one of the original authentic coffee shops on the Green Point strip. It’s been here for as long as we can remember. Walking in, it will remind you of a local deli in the middle of Italy or France. Breads, baskets and an array of delicious foods fill the café. It’s definitely a spot for a delicious wholesome meal or a quick healthy take-away bite.

Coffee:

The coffee is decent, a proper poured espresso shot that makes for a perfect americano. If you’re looking for a perfectly prepared flat white, you’re in the wrong spot. It’s all about Italian coffee here.

Food:

The food is what this place is all about. The feeling will fast arise when you walk inside and spot the plethora of food displayed across the glass counter. From pickled octopus to wild mushroom risotto, from Thai-plum chicken to a multitude of deli-cut meats, Giovanni’s has it all. Stand at the counter, point at what you want and we assure you the meal of a lifetime put together.

Atmosphere:

It’s not exactly the kind of coffee shop that you’d sit down and work the day away. They’ve got no Wi-Fi so that puts a bit of a spanner in the works of a mobile worker. It is however a fantastic spot to meet a friend over a breakfast coffee or a midday lunch. You can sit back, soak up the Italian aura in the air and eat food that will turn your taste buds tender.

It’s a European special, offering just about every delicacy and condiment available under the Mediterranean sun. It’s almost like a curated corner store with all kinds of arts and décor to add to the experience. If you’re looking for a quick take out dinner on the way home that won’t give you cancer, we’d recommend Giovanni’s Deli.
