A Great Coffee Shop for a Hot Summer’s Day
The Gardeners Cottage is a real Newlands legend. The Gardeners Cottage been here for ages and goes down in the books as one of Cape Town’s original coffee shops.
It resides just off Newlands Drive and is located in an old cottage, making one feel like a sophisticated Tarzan. Inside, it’s a cute and cosy tea room, one you would expect at your wealthy grandmother’s house. On the outside, there are tables scattered around, in between trinkets that fill the garden with character.
Coffee & Food:
The coffee is damn fine, an Uber coffee prepared perfectly with loads of love. The food on the other hand is what this place is all about, fresh and ferocious with every bite. On the menu, they’ve got a couple classic breakfasts which include an Eggs Benedict, a Full Breakfast and a fruit parfait. If you’re here at lunch time, they’ve got great burgers sandwiches and classic South African dishes. Their cakes and baked goods are also to die for, with all kind of flavours filling the mouth.
Pop into the Gardeners Cottage for a chilled-out bite, located in the Montebello Design Studio on Newlands Drive.
