A Heavenly Healthy Spot in Central Cape Town

City Bowl is a wholesome spot where you can rub shoulders with politicians. You can also keep it light- hearted and healthy at the same time. City Bowl’s wholesome and happy vibe creates a great feeling of relaxation. This ensures city slickers don’t stress their souls out.

Coffee:

The coffee ain’t bad, straight from the Cuban Roastery in Salt River, El Greeyo. This keeps the City Bowl Health Kitchen true to its Latin roots. The coffee at City Bowl isn’t exactly perfectly prepared but then again, it’s not a coffee shop but rather a salad bar serving coffee. Because health is at their core, they’ve got some strikingly superb smoothies and juices that will get you jumping with joy almost as much as a caffeine kick.

Food:

The food is what this place is all about, hence the name “City Bowl”. The vibe is based around fast in, fast out service, getting you out into the cosy courtyard as quick as possible. It’s pretty difficult to describe the taste of their salad bowls because every bowl is different. It’s a make-your-own salad type of thing but I’ll let you know, pretty much any combination will fill your mouth with tastes that are heavenly, ensuring your heart is kept healthy. The best thing is, healthy doesn’t have to be expensive with a salad bowl setting you back only R60 bucks.

Atmosphere:

While they have take-away options available, I’d highly recommend sitting in the courtyard in the back. City Bowl is filled with natural lights, with plants in pallets against the wall and a range of different tables and chairs that will suit every member of the family. The atmosphere in the air is warm and bubbly, offering a safe space for politicians to refuel on their parliamentary breaks.

I’d definitely recommend it as a spot to sit down and do some work. It’s a spot that lets you sit back, relax and type away to soothing sounds of songs that hum in the background. Wooden slats line the ceiling, giving you the feeling of being in a jiving juice bar in the middle of the jungle.

If you’re looking for a sophisticated jungle to get your brain buzzing, City Bowl could be the spot for you. It’s local and lekker but foreign enough to take you out of your environment and get you thinking differently. Check City Bowl Health Kitchen located on 9A Commercial Street for a wholesome, healthy and heavenly vibe.
